Grief can be overwhelming in general but especially after a suffering loss in a miscarriage. It’s important to listen to yourself and your body or find someone who can help foster the next interaction of your growth as a person. A licensed counselor who is an intuitive and empathetic person who sees deeper to the root of issues may be beneficial.

Trauma, in any form, can be riddled with anxieties. There can often be feelings of anger, confusion and despair. It can be difficult to figure out how to cope with those feelings or find a sense of direction and stability. I’m a compassionate and analytical physician who specializes in connecting the dots. I strive to provide perspective and perhaps, most importantly, share guidance for what to do in the name of moving forward as well as addressing complex problems. Also, as a member of the club, I can share my personal journey and how I emerged from the fog. Hello, and thank you very much for taking the time to read the story of us. As we begin to write this letter, we are excited and emotional, knowing how much lives change because of adoption. We hope that through the glimpses of our lives, you are able to envision the love and life your child will be surrounded by. While we can’t make promises of who our child grows up to be, we can promise that whoever she becomes, she was and will continue to be loved and supported.

The sacrifices we aremaking to ensurethe happiness of our new family do not go unacknowledged. The love our child shows us each and everyday let’s us know we’re doing something right. We are committed to being our child’s advocate and championalways.

Our child is supported, embraced and will be given the opportunity to explore themselves and the world. As with ours, your child’s story will be full of hope and dreams. How? Parenting often feels like a “flying by our seat” experience because there is no roadmap that guarantees the outcome you desire. However, what you can lean on is your faith to guide you, your friends and family to share your experiences with, and the loving example you attempt toemulate to sustain you.

Connections (ie your village) are the key. Connections are at the root of our humanness. Sure there are always tasks to accomplish, but none are as important as the connections we make with our children, family and friends. I’ve seen many well-intentioned parents mistakenly employ strategies that fail to meet the emotional or developmental needs of their children or families. Having a village who can give you objective feedback is always a good thing. Here at Honest Adoption, we want to serve as a member of your village as we have talked the talk and walked the walk.
